Please note
Porophyllum Saxifragas like a lot of light, but not much and directly sunlight. They like a cool spot in the rock garden but not too dark. Some can tolerate the sun a little bit better, but not during the hottest hours. In our not mountainous climate, with more wet than cold winters, a fast drainage is very important. That's why a poor, gravelly soil is the best. But in summer roots may never dry out! Some of them need a bit more humus rich soil. Some grow best in a Tuff stone . In the catalogue we use the following abbreviations.
Location: A= Sunny B= Semi shade C= Shadow but enough light TS= Tuff T= Trough
Difficulty: 1= Easy 2= Some minor adjustments 3.Best with winter cover 4= Alpine house
Growth: 1= Fast 2= Normal 3= Moderate 4= Slow
Soil type: PGS= Poor gravelly soil HRS= More humus rich soil. (click here for more explanation)
